Let's see, the second night...

Hmmm...

Ah yes. We met up with Philly native, the Mr. Christopher Doerr, on South Street. It had been one year since I had Lorenzo and Son's pizza...but it felt like it been much longer than that. That's why I love South Street; peeps who eat meat can get their cheesesteaks and I can get pizza the size of my head for $2.50. It's a tradition for me. My first show in the Philly area was 2000 and Mr. Doerr took me to Lorenzo's that very year. I was in love. It's tradition.

I was quite surprised that my fan club tickets were only one row behind the night prior. Row 12, Jeffside. Not too bad. Totally was expecting much worse. Think we lucked out with the mid-week shows. Sad that I say "lucked out" as if I have a TERRIBLE fan club ticket---hello, it's a 1995 number! I would say that's pretty decent, being 14 years old and all. Whatever...

I think we were all anticipating what night was going to be the "slow" opener night (how could they not play Release, right?) Surprisingly, as Mike predicted it would be played, the opened with Animal. Alright, let's get this party started, right? And nothing like playing All Night second. As if telling us they aren't pusses and are going to reallllly play "all night." Hah. Right. We all know better. Night 2? Not going to happen.

Comeback was aborted. Which made me sad. I love Comeback. I was wishing Chelios was there because they probably would've attempted to try again. Jerkfaces.

I can't complain TOO much, though. Cause I HAVE heard Comeback before and after the shitstorm of Comeback came NO WAY!!!

This was LITERALLY the only song I hadn't heard live off of Yield. I had already witnessed Push Me, Pull Me at Constitution Hall in 1998. I always seemed to always miss No Way by like a show. It was pure torture especially since I love No Way AND Yield so much. I was happy as a clam on 10/28, that's for sure!

Let's seeÉ

Lukin with strings: thumbs up.
Push Me, Pull Me circa 2009: thumbs down.
Thanks for "trying," guys, but much better in 1998. Thanks. Glad I at least saw it when there was more feeling behind that song. I do remember as they performed Push Me, Pull Me during the show, thinking, "Why did they waste a track on Yield with this song? It's ridiculous!" I don't hate it at all, but the butchering of this song at this show made me realize how truly silly this song is! Hahaha, love it...

Garden and Blood (yummy!) led us into a slightly torturous start to the second encore. Got over it in 3 seconds and was super amped with The Real Me. Was slightly disappointed, though, that they played Yellow Ledbetter. With this whole "play every song we know" schtick, I thought they should've reserved their traditional show closer for the last show ONLY. What do I know, though? I'm not in the band...
