...and the final show day had arrived. We left St. Paul...but stopped to get some treats from the bakery before we departed. We stopped in Madison for lunch and had a very solid vegetarian lunch...and a vegan peanut butter shake. YUM. We made it to Milwaukee...bittersweet. Final show day for us, but happiness because we were going to see our baby very soon!

Dropped Rob off at his hotel and then we took a snoozer in the car. Then decided some caffeine was in order --- made our way to a Starbucks which was right by the MSOE campus. I had applied/been accepted to MSOE and I visited between the Alpine Valley and Chicago shows in 1998...so it was fitting that I "revisited" that campus. Picked up Rob and headed to the venue. Lines to get in were ridiculous. Even though I vowed I had given up the sticker and button quest...I noted there was no way that was happening. However, I did notice a door tucked away that no one seemed to notice. Met up with everyone and then decided to go in...shooting for that "secret" entry and I was right...not much of a wait. Britney and I headed for the merch booth. Wasn't too long of a line...and we saw pins and saw stickers...and not even shitting you, they sold the last stickers to the poopheads in front of us. I still had an opportunity for a poster...and while I liked it, I was like, "Eh, we don't need it." So I got all the way to the front of the line and I walked away. The best.

We had a lot of fun at the green screen. Even though it clearly annoyed Mike (LOL what doesn't?) We had some discussions about Yield, which ended up being totally fitting. I was outraged that Britney didn't really care about it...he he he.

Got to our seats, they were really nice. Mike side. TJ ended up abandoning Britney (on her 50th show - I had a shit 50th show start, too, is that how it works?) Mike gave up sitting next to me so Britney and I could rock out together. We had a good time :-)

Show started with Pendulum but didn't stay slow...went right into Mind Your Manners...ok? Ready to go. Corduroy came next and then Lightning Bolt (woo!) The next song was interesting...reminded me of Camden night 1 2003 when they played RITFW early in the set due to fireworks. Anyway, Baba O'Riley. Early so Rick Neilsen (Cheap Trick) could play with them...I guess he has an early bed time? Wonder of all songs why Baba (not complaining)..but why not Surrender?

So the best part came next...

Brain of J.

And I just knew. Just knew. It was Yield time.

But you still held your breath. "If Faithfull is next, it's happening." And then Faithfull HAPPENED.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

I screamed. I jumped up and down.

I know I was grinning ear-to-ear.

MY FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME! The only album release date I celebrate like a holiday - Feb 3rd. Wow. Wow. Wow. I seriously was like...who cares about Moline? We're in Milwaukee and they're PLAYING FREAKING YIELD!!!!!!!!!!!

Once the album ended (sigh) set finished out with Even Flow, Sirens, Rats, Setting Forth and Rearviewmirror. Show could've ended at All Those Yesterdays and I would've been fine. LOL.

Second encore completed Lightning Bolt for me...Sleeping By Myself. Not sure if that's a good thing or not (LOL, live is much better than that POS on the studio album.) Just Breathe came next and then there was a whole spiel and Happy Birthday affair for Tom Petty. Best part? I Won't Back Down was played...I couldn't stop thinking about 03/09/94 when Ed played that...and how powerful it was. It was still powerful and so great to hear. Love, love, love.

First encore completed with Elderly Woman, Got Some, Jeremy, Lukin and Porch.

Second encore started with Crazy Mary (bah)...Black (Ed totally addicted to this song this tour), Alive, Fuckin' Up and perfect for our tour closer... Yellow Ledbetter.

And it was done. What a way to end. Sad to say good-bye to everyone...but long drive home ahead of us. Drove through the night...saw our baby in the a.m. Happy we got to see what we saw... but ready for more fun in 2015 :-)
