My hometown. I always get geeked out about shows in my territory. How can you not? I'm proud of this area and I am weird enough to hope that a Detroit show totally rocks it so we can get some notoriety...even if it's just from Pearl Jam fans.

This was also the mark of something special: a two night stint...in my hometown! Yes!

Bob, Tim, and I headed to the venue quite early. We had gotten back to Detroit reaaaaaaaaaaally late from Columbus. Got to the venue to see good old Dan and Lynn. People at Pine Knob were not letting fans in. Laaaame. A lot of sitting around cars in line waiting for them to allow us onto the property.

Then a lot more waiting in the parking lot. In the sun. They wouldn't let us line up at the box office. We had to hang out by our cars...which were "parked" in order of our spot in line. Cracked out peeps.

We were all a bit pissed off when it was time to pick up our fan club tickets to see that season ticket holders had first grabs on the tickets for the show...therefore, fan club members would not really be getting the "prime" seats. One set of first row tickets were handed out that night. BULLSHIT. I ended up on Jeff's side, like 7th row. Not too bad. My mom would be rocking the show with me in my fan club seats.

Before the show, a group of us headed to Great Lakes Crossing to kill time and eat. Had Ben and Jerry's for dessert...can't beat that...especially on a hot ass day.

Well, the band certainly started the first night with a wonderfully kickass start...by opening with Animal!!! And damn, it did not stop there... Gods' Dice...Rival...Save You...

And yes...of course, the song that makes a show for me...Glorified G!!! But oh wait, there's more...Breath!

But the greatest part of this show was yet to come. Detroit Night One gave me my first Help Help!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it: the one song I wanted to hear the mostest...and in my hometown! That is totally what I am talking about...this band rawks...

Later, during the encore, Soon Forget was played and I felt nostalgic about the 2000 tour. Baba led us into Ledbetter and I left the venue (late and) a very happy girl that night...

...yet was disappointed to find out my little brother left at first encore. They thought the show was over. Tsk, tsk. I am a bad PJ fan...my brother did not fully grasp the concept of Pearl Jam. He enjoyed himself enough to say he'd come the next night. Could hardly believe it myself...
