three days...
I've been lazin' off. More. I almost didn't write an entry today...my computer was even off. And I hemmed and hawed and here I am. Entry-a-doin'.
Last night I had to stay at work late for a video/phone conference. It was scheduled to go on until 9...but my boss and I were able to leave by 8:20...so that
was nice. It's been SO crazy busy at work...that I was actually looking foward to being at work late so I could get a lot of stuff done. Though I still don't feel
100% confident that everything's awesome and stuff for my time off. My first day back in January will be very hairy. I'm dreading it. Tomorrow I am going to TRY and
attempt to make my first day back...easier. That makes tomorrow not so fun at all, though.
It's so weird...because last year it was totally dead at work around this time of year. And traditionally, it is dead. There's just so much going on, I guess. I feel like I spent
the entire month of December at home or doing very simple tasks at work.
I did get something accomplished today, personally. Well a couple of things. One, I made an opthamologists appointment for next week. Thrilled that they had an appointment available...
nothing like waiting until last minute to schedule that. Two, I picked out my health insurance plan. Talk about gross and so not fun.
Today was also our Holiday Party at work. It was at the same banquet hall it was at last year. Only this year we had a cash bar and a band. Cash bar didn't matter though because our
maintenance guy paid for all our drinks. I was fine with the glass of wine I had when we first arrived...but when he paid for seconds, we all jumped up for more. Why not? Free? The band was good...
but it was so loud and I'm old and loud music annoys me. Especially in a social situation because instead of talking, you're yelling. And that's just stupid. We did get AWESOME gifts this year.
Yes, gifts, plural. All the ladies got a Kenneth Cole Reaction carry on/overnight bag. Free luggage? Rad! Even though I have my pretty Diane vonFurstenburg luggage set...it's still nice to have.
We also got a goody bag sent over from our NY office...with a ton of cool branded stuff in it. Including a really cool wife-beater-esque American Apparel shirt with one of our brand logos on it.
It's very cute...definitely perfect for Jazzercising. The bags had the same stuff in them...but differences. So my shirt is navy blue with baby powder blue trim. I think my shirt was the best of the
shirts. We also got some other neat stuff but I shouldn't brag about my cool swag. I can say that the shirt is only my second favorite thing from the goody bag...
I think my cellphone has decided to start acting up again. I've had two or three calls today that didn't make my cellphone ring. I was only aware of them when the voicemail beep went off. LAME!
I feel like barfing. I have been eating so much shit food...like the three brownies I had at the hall. But those brownies were just so good. I couldn't leave them on the plate all lonely and stuff...haha
and my entry after last year's Christmas party? "And me and Laura ate about 400 brownies.". Yep. History repeating itself...
