Monday, October 24th, 2005[Entry 408]can't get the stink off...
I absolutely MUST get my haircut within the next couple of days. Yesterday was the final straw. My hair sucks! I had at LEAST two different dreams about getting my hair cut. If I dream about it...I say it's a desperate plea with myself to do something about it! On agenda for tomorrow: make appointment.
Weekends seem to come and go so quickly...and I feel the same about this past weekend...but during the weekend...it seemed like it was going at a good pace. Saturday, after the whole sunglass order thing...I decided to find cheap brown shoes. And perhaps a pair of black ones, too (if I was lucky!). First, I went to Target. I figured that since I spend almost all my money there, might as well try the shoes. The problem is, I am a shoe snob. I found one pair I was so-so on...they were bronze (not brown) and they were sandal-esque. And hello, it was like 49 this morning. Hardly sandal weather. Target was CRAZY and I cursed my way to the next stop. My next stop will remain nameless. Mostly because I want to spare the chain the embarassment. But ICK. My mom used to take us shopping here all the time as kids and I think it's remained the same as when I was 10. They had one pair of shoes I "liked" but they looked cheap. Did I want to spend $22 on something that looked cheap? (The answer is "no"). I just wanted to get out of that store as fast as possible...my heels clacking on the tiled pathway outta the store. And to think, I was kind of sad when they announced this store was exiting Michigan...
I battled...should I go to Kohl's? Should I go to TJ Maxx? Decided my FINAL stop would be DSW: I don't think DSW has amazing prices, but if I am looking for a particular something< I know I can find it there. My feet hurt and I was fed up with shopping. Busyness really gets to me: people, you don't HAVE to only shop on weekends. Stores are open late during the week, you know. I found a really cute pair of BCBGirls heels...for $45. But I ulimately needed BROWN and I didn't "need" black (though my black shoes suck butt) so I couldn't justify $45.
I left empty-handed and decided I can NOT shop with a mission. It's a wonder why most people despise shopping. Shopping SUCKS when you need something in particular. I much prefer my method of shopping: not looking for anything but deals and cool shit. So I have to stick to what I know... my shopping philosophy...and know that just someday I'll find a pair of cheap (but expensive) pair of brown...and then black...shoes.
My grandma is funny. When you talk to her on the telephone, about 90% of the time, she doesn't listen. Tonight it registered with her that I have a cat named Isaac, "He sounds Jewish." I said, "That's cause he is Jewish, Grandma, he told me." The reason I even mentioned Isaac to her is because the damn cat broke a lamp last night. I don't even really care that much...didn't like the lamp...didn't use the lamp. But the point is, he broke it. Ok, I don't even know if it was broken. The bulb broke, for sure, but it was a weird black light and I wasn't going to go seek out the replacement bulb to see if a lamp I don't like still works.
I was especially smelly after Jazzercise today. It was gross.
So this week should be fun...haircut (hopefully) and root canal. Rock on, rock on!
