no longer overwhelmed...

As if I didn't think declawing was bad already...

My mom and I took Coco to the vet today because she's been favoring one of her paws. Everytime she sits, she lifts her left paw. She walks on the paw ok, but she constantly lifts it when she sits. Anyway, as suspected, it's a result of the declaw. I guess it's pretty common with declawed cats...which sucks, but at the same time, I'm so glad Phantom didn't have any complications when his poor claws were ripped from his front paws. Cats get the same reactions humans do when they lose a limb when they "lose" their claws. So Coco's poor little nervous system is screwed up; it's thinking there's pain when there no longer is any pain because she is healed.

It's weird though, because I noticed that Coco scratches at the floor when she eats and when she drinks. Phantom does the same thing when he drinks water. None of the cats we have with claws ever do this. My poor kitties with no claws. It makes me want to cry.

My mom and I ran around like lunatics today: Bed Bath and Beyond, Marshall's, TJ's. Marshall's and TJ's should 100% be banned from my life because the last thing I need to be doing right now is buying clothes...but I bought two pairs of Editor pants today. But they're "replacements"...a couple of my current Editors are insanely huge on me and I look like I'm back in high school wearing old man's pants when I wear them. So I need to get those bad boys up on The eBay. Thing that sucks is my green pair is insanely huge and I think I'll have a hard time finding another green pair to replace them. I also bought a black and white striped To The Max sweater...it was on clearance and if it's BCBG shit and it's on clearance, chances are I can't pass that shit up. Though I did pass up a pair of BCBGirls sandals today for $16---that makes me "good", right?

Oh wait. I forgot I bought a pair of stupid Seven capri pants yesterday. I own no capris except two pairs of black Editors, one pair of khaki Editors, and one raspberry pair of Editors. I hate Seven jeans, but these were too cute to pass up. And, duh, they were on clearance.

No more clothes shopping for months! Not until I decide to "let go" of some of the stuff I own.

I wish I was starting college---the shit that's out there aimed for the dorms is SO cool! It seems stores just started aggressively marketing towards kids going to college the year I went to school. But there wasn't nearly as much fun stuff as they have now. The shit Target has...it all coordinates and it's hella cute! I think I could pass for an 18 year old starting up college...don't you? My mom says I look like I'm 12 when I wear jeans and tennis shoes. That could be my uniform...
