Zoom! There went the weekend!
Friday I got together with Rich. A "good-bye" dinner, so to say...seeing as he is relocating to Vegas. Not really relocating...guess you could say... moving back to Vegas. Neither of us can really wrap our heads around the fact that he had lived here for over 3 years. I've known Rich since 2000... so that means he's lived here for more than half the time that I've even known him. That's kinda crazy.
Saturday I spent the morning lounging AND running errands. I had to leave for the wedding at 1 in order to make it to the ceremony at 3:30. I decided I would get ready at 12:00. So not cool; I had no purse lined up. I needed to hair and make-up. Get dressed. Throw things. Sign the card. Put money in the card. Oh, and eat, too. Print out directions. You would think an hour would be adaquate time to do all that...but nooooo...I left here really stressed out. After screwy directions from MapQuest, I found the church... and arrived just when my friend arrived. We always do that; we arrive places where we have to meet at like the same exact time. Anyway, the ceremony was only 1/2 hour long. And it was Presbyterian...so none of that crazy up and down shit. Short, sweet, to the point. My friend looked so gorgeous. It was just a really happy event. I'm so happy for her.
In-between the ceremony and reception, I went to my friend's fiance's parents house where we were treated with wine. I tried some white wine...figured I could stray from my traditional red and be different. It turned out to be really good...not disgusting like the other white wines I've tried. It was really sweet. Some wine from Mackinac Island. I remember what the label looks like, but lack the name. I'm gonna have to figure it out because it was good. Anyway, then we ran some "errands" and then went to the reception. The cake was AMAZING and it was served with ICE CREAM! That's the first time I ever attended a wedding where cake was served with ice cream. It was spectacular. And it was plain white or plain chocolate cake; none of that bland or fruity filling shit. Damn good! I was reaaaaaally tired, though...and not too thrilled about the two hour drive ahead of me...so I left at 10:15 and drove home. Through construction and bullshit, I still made it home at 12:00...so that was good. I didn't make it to bed until 2 or 3, though. I can't even figure out why.
Today was a relaxy day. I avoided the internet...which is bad because I am way behind on e-mails (again). But it was SO beautiful outside. I spent some time in the hot tub. Read FHM and Glamour (haha, yes, FHM, I have a free subscription) on the swing that is sitting where the pool used to be...and yes, there's still sand in the backyard where the pool was...so I let my feet dig into the sand. It was great.
And finally...it was Mother's Day...so a Happy Mother's Day to my mom. She's the greatest and everyone knows it!
