Sunday, April 17th, 2005[Entry 313]driving slow on sunday morning...
Total yawn.
I really hate Sunday evenings.
It hasn't been a totally crazy weekend...not really "jam-packed" either...but I haven't really even had a chance to sit around and do nothing.
Friday, after work, I went and met a "Detroit" friend (meaning a friend who is interested in the city of Detroit like I am) for dinner. Got to check out some of his Detroit memorabilia, which was really neat. Then I watched The Grudge with my mom. I got it from Netflix...I dunno why. It shoulda just been called The Movie Kinda Like The Ring.
Saturday morning I went to the FOBC meeting. My dad was with me and afterwards, we stopped at a paint store so I could get some paint ideas. My dad also ran in Trader Joe's. I remember eating Chinese food. Running some errands. Oh yeah, furniture shopping. I went furniture shopping yesterday. Couldn't find a couch, like, anywhere. I found one that I like...the couch is exactly what I want to pay for a couch...however, if I get the loveseat, too, it throws off my budget. So I dunno. It's a really pretty aqua...made of chenille-like fabric. It may even be chenille. I can't remember. But the color will really look nice with my other furniture (ie wood furniture...book case, entertainment center, shelving, etc). The store that it's at, however, is having a two day sale, so depending on things, I may have to go run there tomorrow...because potentially it could fit in my budget if it's on sale. I am so particular in my tastes, though. It's stupid...everything in the world I like is just expensive beyond belief. I guess my eye likes furniture that looks well-designed.
Today I did more running around...went to Costco to price their laminate flooring. Then we went to Home Expo. I had been in Home Expo many times before...but now that I am pricing things and paying attention to what this and that costs...I just about had a heartattack when I glanced at anything I was interested in. The place is definitely not in my budget. The clearance section, though...IS.
Maybe I should explain...
Kids, I made an offer on a condo. I've known for about a week that I was gonna do it. So I've been pricing stuff like crazy because it needs some updates...flooring in particular (current carpeting is G-R-O-S-S). Last week, I found a bathroom vanity on clearance at Home Depot for $45. I bought it. Today, at Home Expo, I found the granite kitchen sink I wanted (in white, I really wanted black) for $50. I don't even have this place...and I am buying shit for it. Thank goodness for the peace of mind that stores have good return policies:-)So yeah, I made an offer on a condo. I didn't really want to talk about it in here because I felt that someway...I would curse myself by doing so. But, shit, everything happens for a reason and whatever will be will be. It's too hard not to talk about because it's the main thing on my mind right now.
