Monday, February 21st, 2005[Entry 285]but it don't really happen that way at all...
I finally cracked and bought a new flat iron. This time it's an ionic one that can do your hair damp. That may definitely come in handy. I know my flat iron has a warranty... but it states that you have to be a professional to own it. And clearly, I am no professional.
We got tons of snow yesterday. Ick. Ick. Ick! I hope it all melts soon.
I had a pretty busy weekend; went to the FOBC meeting on Saturday morning. Then I went with my parents out to the Lakeside area. I ended up buying some really cool glasses (that you drink out of, not that you wear). They happen to be German made, too. They are reallllly cool. Plain, no design. I liked 'em but I purchased them with the intention of still looking for a cool print of glasses...like my rad "mod" red, white, blue glasses. I also decided that I would like a dark grey kitchen/dining room. So I have to work off that. Which is fine. I also bought a shower curtain because at that time, I thought for sure I was going to move into the condo I've been talking about...and it has brown tile. The shower curtain is white with brown and pink stripes. Figured might as well buy it...can always take it back. After shopping, we went to Aaron's parents' house. His sister was in town with her new baby. Aaron's sister and brother-in-law have been living in Alaska (he's in the Air Force)...and they are soon re-locating to Japan. Was very funny to see Aaron handling a baby...especially since he treated his neice like she was one of his cats (ie the way he was holding her).
Yesterday I went to go see that condo again. I figured I should see it one last time before I decided to make an offer. I dunno...I still liked it, but something just didn't sit right with me. It didn't seem as magical. Later, my parents took me to another complex that is currently apartments being converted to condos. I really liked the layout of the one bedroom...it was like 850 square feet. Tons of living space. They're too expensive...or rather, I don't want to pay that much for a condo...it's stupid. Especially a one bedroom. Anyway, I realized two things about my condo searching...and where I finally want to end up...the most important being...the complex where I live should definitely have a community space (ie pool, clubhouse). I am not saying I would looooove a pool because I would swim in it (I can certainly say I wouldn't)...but it's a place to go, relax, and meet your neighbors.
The two bedroom I liked had none of that; you would definitely keep to yourself in that place. With that being said...going to look at more condos on Wednesday. I'm not sure if I am ruling out (100%) that condo I like... but I'm definitely considering other options.
And in other news: thank goodness for caller id or else I think we'd have to change our home phone number.
