[Entry 278]
<<||>>

now come on down and do what you gotta do...

I finally "got off the couch" and went to that exercise class I was talking about. I can't say that I've been a total couch potato...I do try to ride my bike (for a little bit) everyday. But oh my goodness.

The class I went to was a Jazzercise class. The only reason I considered it was because two of my co-workers (my favorite co-workers at that) are in love with it. One of them is a Jazzercise Queen, and she brought me a coupon for a free week. Hell, a free week...why would you not even try it?

The first song starts up...and I can tell I'm gonna hate it. I don't like to dance. I visualize myself dancing and all I see is hokeyness. I'm very uncoordinated. I used to trip over myself all the time (though I have curtailed that, and I think it's because of all the pointed toe high heeled shoes I wear...they make you more aware of your steps). But I went with it. Eventually you let loose of the fact you all look like morons and forget about it. By the second song, I was ready to keel over. I felt like I had just run the mile in high school.

Yes, I am indeed THAT out of shape.

And I was angry...I was like...can't this stupid song be over with already?!? When is this hour up? And my favorite thought of the night...

"I would rather be fat than do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

But I held on. I kept on trucking. Was so happy when we finally got to stretches at the end; that shit felt good.

Needless to say, I hated it...I never sweated so much in my entire life (ok, maybe I sweat a lot more anytime I see Pearl Jam in Camden---fuck that venue)...and I've never felt so beat up. But damn, I feel so damn good. I did it! Woo woo! I think I'll continue to force myself to go twice a week.

I'm taking tomorrow off work. May go look at a house or condo or something. Who knows. It seems to be my trend these days. I like having Wednesdays off...breaks the week into two little "mini weeks." Gotta use three more days before the end of March...
