lost myself just thinking...

MTV is running a Cribs marathon today. It has left me sickened. House after house of famous person after famous person. The way these people get to live... is gross and wrong. The sickest of them all is Russell Simmon's house. For every hour of the day, they have at least one room with the only purpose of sitting in...to sit in. What is the point of that? You know, great, you're successful. But why is our society like...so accepting of abundance and excessiveness? If you need someone to come to your house and help you organize the things in your closet---I think you need to examine your life and think about how stupid it all is.

I went to my Grandma's this morning. For some reason, she decided yesterday was a good day to watch some videos on her vcr (not sure if we gave it to her or where it came from). When I talked to her last night, she said the VCR wouldn't eject one of the tapes she put in. So I told her I'd take a look at it. I was able to fix it. No big deal. She is so weird, though, like all of a sudden she decides, "Oh today will be the day I will play with the vcr that is collecting dust in my room!" I forgot to go through what is left of our video collection and bring some videos over to her. I guess I'll ask her in a couple of days if everything is going smoothly. Because if it's not, no point in me bringing over videos she can't figure out how to watch. Jewish (the cat) is totally addicted to her porch. Everytime you go to her house now, he's on the porch. We have a cat tree on her porch, and Jewish sleeps on the top tier at night. It's funny, but it's also sad. We really want my Grandma to take him in this winter. We don't know how that will go, though. There's things to think about...like how he's at least three years old and has never used a litterbox...or like, how would he handle us cutting his nails?

I've pretty much done everything on my "weekend to do" list. I need to get some stuff on eBay tonight...but I am way lazy about eBay as of late. I just don't want the hassle. I have a pair of sandals I want to sell...so I should probably jump on that because the next thing you know, it will be winter.

So it's the 4th of July. 4th of July...not a big deal to me. Should it be? Maybe. I was thinking about it yesterday...I can only recall two 4th of Julys. The one when I was younger and ate a hot dog and puked it up not much later...and that was the last time I ever enjoyed a hot dog. Just one of those things I puked up and never wanted to eat ever again. Which is probably a good thing because hot dogs are simply gross. The only other 4th I recall is from last year. Which shouldn't count because it was only a year ago. But the reason I remember it was because Rich and I left in the evening...probably 8 o'clock (?) to drive to Philly for the Pearl Jam shows in Camden (LOL "the resort town of Camden"). When we were in the middle of nowhere, Ohio, we started to notice firework shows. We probably witness five (maybe more) fireworks displays on our drive. That was pretty cool.

One thing I wanted to accomplish this weekend was the last four PJ recaps. Tomorrow marks the 1 year anniversary of Camden Night One...and I don't even have the recap done. That's bad. Maybe I'll hand write some out tonight when I'm not researching international stuff. I seem to write better recaps when I hand write them. The thing is, I hate hand writing shit out. I'm not going to rush recaps, though. And I'm through stressing myself over getting them done. I'll get them done when I get them done. It's a good thing that a) I have a pretty decent memory when it comes to the PJ shows I've attended (which is nuts because thats 51+ days) and b) if I can't remember something, there's always the cheater thing to do...look at home video footage. Writing about the shows doesn't mean so much to me anymore...it's more about the things we did during the day.

I'm really craving ice cream sandwiches. I have to remember to pick some up tomorrow when I go to Farmer Jack's to stock up on lemonade Nantucket Nectars. Mmmmmm.
