[Entry 128]
<<||>>

we all believe, we all believe it...

I just ran to the post office with my shoes on the wrong feet. 23 year old college grad and I can't even get my shoes on the right feet.

I am enjoying the buzz around this area right now...from the Pistons doing so well. Radio stations can't stop talking about them. The post office had "Go Pistons" signs all over. It's great. Everyone's so optimistic and proud.

At 5:00 this morning, I was awoken by one of the loudest crash-noises ever. I see my cat scurry from across the room to go downstairs...so I knew he wasn't behind the crash. I turn on my reading lamp and see that lovely creature of a cat, Rorybelle, had knocked over my "lucky" bamboo. Not that big of a deal...but it was in a granite box FILLED with little tiny pebbles...like the size of cat litter. Was THE last thing I wanted to deal with at 5am. Needless to say, Rory is currently on my shitlist.

This morning I ran out shopping in persuit of jeans and shoes. I failed miserably and wasted an hour and ten minutes. But this morning was not a complete disaster.

I had to run to the post office, and just as I was leaving, the phone rang. It came up as "unknown" but I felt in my gut it was a call from the place I interviewed with last week. Listen to the person leave a message and find out it was indeed that company. I jet off to the post office...wanting to beat the lunch rush. Call the woman back from human resources. She doesn't answer...I leave a message. She calls me back within ten minutes. She tells me my background check cleared and well...they wanted to offer me the position! I was a total geek on the phone...giddy and "no way!" On top of that, they offered me my ideal salary! I didn't even have to negotiate! I go in next week to fill out paperwork and discuss benefit packages...and then I start the following Monday! I am so happy and excited... you have no idea!

The only problem is, I have to go into work tomorrow morning and let them know. While I was hired temporarily...it still sucks because I really like who I work for and where I work. When I started, I said when/if I found a permanant job, perhaps I could still work for them part time when I had the chance. I'm not sure if that's a real option...but time will tell. I can only take things one step at a time.

So yes! Go Pistons! Go Jess! And my new sandals will be here today:-)

I totally forgot to mention the fact my dad was in a car accident today. He was stopped at a stop light...in front of him was a cop van. He looked in his rearview to see that an older woman was driving a car and not stopping. She ended up realizing she was about to hit my dad, so she swerved and ended up only hitting the side of his bumper. She was really shaken up...the cops asked her if she had taken any medications. She said no. They didn't buy it and asked her if she had been drinking. She denied it. When they looked her up, they found she had a couple of drunk driving convictions on her record. Needless to say, she was carted away by the coppers. Old drunk ladies...love it.

And speaking of cars...for the 2nd time in the past week, I've seen the light green Malibu...the color I contimplated getting. I am so glad I got it. It's so not "wow" at all. It's so dull. So overall, I guess I am indeed happy with my color choice.

Since I will be working in an office environment, I need more professional...career clothing. I ordered two pairs of pants and a shirt online tonight. I hope they work out. Didn't really want to foot the bill...but I can't wear jeans to work...and all I own (pretty much) are jeans.

Rich and I went to Shield's today. I don't know if I was hungry or what...but shit, I thought it was so damn good. LOL I had Shield's on Friday, Saturday, and today. Is that kickass or what? Anyway, Rich had a car that had right steering. It was soooo strange sitting in the passenger seat and being on the left side of a car. I kept feeling like we were going to crash into something. You feel like because you're sitting in the left, you should have control over where you are going. It's so strange. Since there were two of us in the car, no one really noticed the steering issue...except one silver Ford Focus...two dudes, one on a cellphone sticking his head out his window and yelling and pointing but I couldn't hear what he was saying...but it was hilarious nontheless.
