thunder pounds when i stomp the ground...
Today was a silly kind of day. It wasn't really all that silly...but I think "silly" describes it best.
First day of work was nice. I am completely computer gal. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. It's nice, too, because
this store not only carries shoes, but also carries clothing and accessories...so while a lot of my experience bleeds into
this job...I hope I will learn a lot more about the whole apparel aspect of independant retailing.
I had lunch at Goombah's today. And perhaps the whole lunch incident is what defines today as silly...but not silly in a bad
way in the least. The girl who has worked at Goombah's as far back as I can recall...seemed really happy to see me today. It was kind
of strange, but I hadn't been in there for awhile. I order...and she tells me my meal is on her. Turns out she Googled "Goombah's" and
she was directed to my page...and after some exploring, she realized she knew me. Does this define me as the ultimate dork? It may...but
I thought it was really cool and so very nice of her. Definitely put a smile on my face.
I found a really cool pair of all-cork sandals (when I say ALL cork, I mean ALL cork) today. However, the $165 price tag made me immediately
put the shoes down. Shoes--->not even: sandals! I can't imagine paying anything over $100 for a pair of sandals.
Six Feet Under season three progress: 45%.
This is how bad I've been lately: between Thursday and Friday, I'm expecting four pairs of shoes in the mail. One's an automatic return. One is a
pair of shoes I already have (same color, same style). Another is that same pair of shoes but in black. And the final pair is those XOXO sandals
I was talking about. My shoe obsession is back in full force! The thing that scares me...is that I go into places like Nine West and DSW...and drool
over shoes. Heck, three years ago I would've turned my nose at those shoes and said they were too bland. Funny how tastes change. I think, though,
I'm going to love those pink shoes I have on my main page (by Chinese Laundry--->total rock city shoes) for a longass time. I heart 'em to pieces!
Ok I am so tired. I haven't worked since December. It's tough not having my mid-day naps like I'm used to:-)
