Monday, May 10th, 2004[Entry 100]i know just what you’re saying...
I didn't do much today at all. I went to the Post Office. I went to McDonald's for some hotcakes. I made cupcakes. And I watched a movie called Far From Heaven.
Far From Heaven...it was dumb luck that I tuned in when it had started. The guide said it was about a 50's housewife who discovers her husband is homosexual. It seemed interesting (starring Julianne Moore and Dennnis Quaid). I stayed tuned for the entire movie...hoping for some sort of resolution at the end. I was severely disappointed. It seemed very Lifetime. It wasn't entirely about the housewife dealing with the homosexuality thing...it also dealt with racial tensions of the time. I don't know...a lot of mish mush and like I said, no resolution. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed the costumes. 50s fashion was so elegant and interesting.
I need to get to Best Buy. They have a 100 pack TDK spindle of CD-Rs for $19.99 after rebate. Not the cheapest ever...but the best price around minus the holiday pricing. Ah, good old Best Buy Dot Com. You can buy them online and not have to even deal with the rebate...even better. Plus I don't have to go to the stupid store. Best Buy Dot Com has saved me many trips to Best Buy...which is good because in the past, anytime I purposely would make a trip to Best Buy, they'd be out of whatever I was looking for. Anyway, I'm silly because I'm partial to TDK products. Even for stupid shit, I'll spend a few more bucks to have TDK blanks...
Since I have to give up my favorite Diesel sandals...the ones that I own three different colors of...I'm desperately searching for a new sandal. Every year, I buy a pair of black slides or sandals. They become my staple throughout the summer. However, it seems like I am having one bitch of a time finding a pair. Well, I mean, I like cheap stuff. Since I've always scored a pair of black sandals for less than $20 (minus, of course my Diesel sandals), it's hard to be like, "Do do do, I'll spend $40." While $40 is not that much for a pair of shoes. I am just the biggest cheapskate on the planet. Ok, not really. I'm just a big fan of deals. Tomorrow, if I am not lazy, I may in fact go sandal shopping. Check out DSW...and maybe even step into Oakland Mall (shudder) and check out Nine West. Nine West has two pairs I really like... but they're over $20:-) Yeah maybe I'll do that after I go do my returns at Loehmanns.
As you can see, things are really exciting right now.
