Friday, April 23rd, 2004[Entry 92]it's evolution baby...
A long time ago, I purchased 100 double jewel cases on eBay. I also purchased 2 or 3 boxes of single jewel cases from CompUSA (each box contained 50 jewel cases). I have now run out of jewel cases due to the addition of DVD PJ shows to my collection. I went onto eBay to see about getting more double cases...and was sort of pissed about how much people charge for shipping. Then I thought about getting some double DVD cases. They turned out to be cheaper. However, I decided that it would be better to stick with keeping my DVDs in CD cases because when I label the liners, I can fit two liners on one piece of paper. If I were to make labels for a DVD case, I would have to use an entire piece of paper. Interesting stuff, huh?
I went to the orthodontist today. But beforehand, I had to go to class to take care of some business. My last presentation. I was not sad. I did not even want to do it. It wasn't a matter of not being prepared...it was just like...enough already! Is this necessary?!? Anyway, I came home, changed clothing (I was wearing my Miss Sixty blue plaid pants) and scooped up my bro (he went for a consultation).
At the orthodontist, one of the ortho assistants said, "Yeah, your Mini-Me was in here today." And I'm like, "What?" She thought she had told me, but apparently, she forgot. They have this new patient. She's around 12 years old. When she was in for her first visit, the assistants were like, "That girl looks really familiar." And it hit them, "She looks just like Jessica Gates!" So this poor little girl is now nick-named "Mini-Me" and gets to hear about how she is the little version of me. LOL it was so funny because another assistant got in on the action and actually tracked down a picture of the girl so she could show me. And sure enough, she did look like a little me. I guess she wears funky glasses, too. Then the doctor comes to check me out and he goes, "Did you hear you have a twin?" Hahaha. I sure as hell love that place.
Afterwards, I did some running around with my mom. We were going to go take care of some returns (the billions of hair product I purchased but found out I don't need)... but ended up seeing if we could try to find my brother a suit for prom. A vintage suit. We found a billion that may work at Mother Fletcher's in Ferndale...but he needs to go try the shit on. After the hunt for Ryan's outfit, I went with my mom to Eye-O-Ta (the best place on earth to find cool glasses: I found my green LaFont glasses there and my current glasses there...if I walk in that place, I know I will find a pair of glasses I love). My mom needed new glasses. She ended up finding a reallllllly good deal on a pair of Pro Design frames (the same brand of frames as my current pair). They looked good on me, too, but she would not give them up. They were returned and therefore were marked down to...$84.50. Yeah. Um. I wish I could find a deal on glasses like that! Especially since I wear glasses like 99% of the time these days (although that changes in the summertime, as I go insane if I can't have sunglasses over my eyes).
So that was pretty much the extent of my day...besides playing some Super Nintendo, burning DVDs, and staring at this mess I call my room. Definitely gonna get this bitch cleaned up tomorrow. Oh, I also organized my Pearl Jam tickets. How awesome is that? I spent my Friday evening organizing ticket stubs (FYI: the most I ever paid for a Pearl Jam ticket was the $50 ticket for Groundwork in 2001; cheapest base price ticket was obviously Toledo in 1996 @ $20.00).
I know I have to study for finals and stuff...but it feels fucked up to not have any projects lingering over my head. I thought it would be a good feeling...but it's more like that feeling of going on a trip and thinking you forgot to pack something...
