if she should fall away...

Today was a non-stop kind of day. I woke up and went with my mom to Marshall's out in Rochester and then in Roseville. As soon as we got home, there was a message from the body shop saying my car was ready. It was around 11...and I was beyond thrilled that my car was ready. We went and picked it up and then came home...decided to go to Meijer's. See the Duncan Hines brownie mix is on sale this week...and we needed to stock up on the Butterfinger brownie mix because that shit is the best. Meijer's had corn on the cob on sale, so my mom bought some, so when we got home, I had some corn for lunch...and then off we were to Wayne State.

Today was the "Grad Fair" at Wayne State. Everything a graduate needed was available to them today. My mom wanted to come along because she wanted to see about getting some announcements printed. Went and got my graduation tickets. Went on to get my cap and gown (a traditional black) and my tassle is...brown. I'm a fashion student and my tassle is brown. At first I was thrilled because I thought my gown was brown (bad lighting) and I was delighted with thoughts of wearing my pretty pink shoes with an all brown graduation attire. Don't know what I was thinking. Hopefully my gown isn't too long on me. I went for the 5'6" height...because no matter the warning to wear reasonable shoes, my ass is wearing heels. Then I joined the alumni association because it was cheap and you got a free gift. I do not even know the benefits. It just seems like alumni associations want you to join so they can bother you for money down the line or something. My mom bought me a folder-thingy for my diploma as I think I will frame my own diploma...not buy some pre-made thing. I'll take a pic of Old Main on my own or something and mount it with it. Ordered announcements. They are way nicer than I ever expected. Wayne State seal on the front, inside is a picture/sketch of Old Main. Very classy, very cool.

Went to class. After econ of merch, we had some free time before retail management. RM was meeting at La Shish in Dearborn. Don't ask. Krystn drove because my mom had my car because she came down to campus with me. Krystn and I went to Fairlane to check out the Diesel store and yes, Forever 21. I ended up buying a shirt at Forever 21 for our next display...which I am excited about. It's an 80s theme and maybe some other time, I will discuss it.

So after Fairlane, we head to LaShish. Just as we are getting out of the car, some guy from our class (along with two strangers) came up to us and said that we were at the wrong La Shish. Apparently there are two in Dearborn (on the same street). I only have ever noticed the one. So grumble, grumble we went. Could barely find a parking space. Go and waste three hours at La Shish. I'm not into Middle Eastern food...I was not thrilled to be there. And I was oh so tired.

Krystn was super and gave me a ride home even though she lives in the opposite direction as me. I get in the house and Ryan's jumping around like a maniac telling me to go check out my computer. I mutter something about my DVD writer...which is supposed to arrive on Thursday. Go upstairs...and notice nothing. Then look at my actual computer and see that there's a DVD writer installed. Turned out it came a day early and my nice brother took care of it for me. Everyone needs a Ryan!

So that was my day. Tomorrow should be just as crazy. I have to get to the dealer before 6 to get my car. I'm really kind of sad, but excited right now about that.

I was not sad when I got rid of my Malibu. I was reaaaaaaaaaaally sick of it and I hated the green color after awhile. While there are many things I hate about my Alero (sits really low so hard to get in and out of, not my ideal gas mileage, small)...I'm going to miss it. I know I will. It is a cute little car. Not really the exact definition of a race car...but it was a race car for me. It has a great turning radius and awesome pick-up. My Alero treated me well.

Oh...and how about the Detroit City Council being run by a bunch of whiney kindergarteners.
