[Entry 64]

it's a hopeless situation...

With all things considered, it was a pretty nice weekend.
Yesterday was my mom's birthday. We spent the morning shopping. Aw yeah. Then my sister and Aaron came over and we all went out to Mongolian BBQ for lunch. Since I am not too big on Mongolian BBQ since I became a vegetarian (6 1/2 years!), I simply had a hot fudge brownie sundae. Oh, and a Shirley Temple. Best Shirley Temple I have ever had. I gave my mom all the cherrys (from my drink and sundae) because she loves cherries.

Today I began working on "my store." My store is going to be cool. It is going to be located on the first floor of the Compuware HQ. I went into Lowe's today and got some paint samples as well as a laminate flooring sample. I have to "invent" a store for two seperate classes. One is a bit more whimsical...more about the design and visual aspects. The other is more about the business aspects. I've decided to do the same store...just to make it easier on myself. And who knows, maybe some day it will help me create a business plan for my own store. Anyone wanna back me? :-)

I don't know how I got sidetracked about that whole spiel...anyway...ended up going to my sister and Aaron's apartment with my mom and dad and hanging out there. Not without stopped off at my Grandma's house first. We had to pick up one of her extra sewing machines because apparently my sister is now interested in sewing. After my Grandma's, we went and looked at the Lofts at New Center. I wasn't so "gung-ho" on these because I don't really like the look of rectangular things that look like they've been plopped on blacktop. Plus they are kinda "too" north...just a few blocks north of the [former] GM Building and the Fisher Building. Anyway, going in them kind of changed my mind. They are really nice. The first phase of 48 have completely sold out. Amazes me. The two models we looked at are around $200,000. Yeah, a little out of my budget.

After hanging at my sister's for awhile, we ventured out for dinner. We were going to eat at the Third Street Saloon (voted by Metro Times last year as best pizza in Detroit)...but it was a pure bar and it would have taken 45 minutes to get our pizza. We decided we were too hungry for that and went to the Detroit Beer Company (which is owned by the same people who own Royal Oak Brewery and Rochester Mills Brewery). It's located across the street from the Detroit Opera House. Very cute little place. And they have brick oven pizza...and I'm all about that since I can't get my fix at America's Pizza Cafe anymore (APC was located in downtown Royal Oak and next to the Fox Theater...they had brick oven pizza...and it was owened by Mike Illitch--->owner of Little Caesar's...but the pizza did not taste cheap, it was really really good).

So that was pretty much the extent of my weekend. Oh and I got a bloody nose in Marshall's today. I'm sure you wanted to know this and I'm certain it grosses you out. But it grossed me out, too. Stupid bloody nose.
