Tuesday, February 24th, 2004[Entry 51]it's not a habit...it's cool...
Today started off kinda "eh"...then it got fun...then it got "ew" when I received an e-mail from Michelle saying this: "Happy 23rd birthday! Do you realize we started high school nine years ago?" LOL talk about really making me feel old. I'd be mad, but I did the same thing to her birthday 11 days ago:-) And since we're the same age...it's alright for us to make fun of each other being old.
I woke up kinda early today because I needed to go to the post office before school. Not super early...but I've been staying up really late lately...so I've needed to sleep in a bit. Anyhow, I ended up getting to school really early because it took zero minutes at the post office. After German, I went to eat Little Caesar's. The line was kinda "eh" but a kid from my German class was in line with me...so I had someone to talk to. The good thing was that it took no time for me to get my food today. Happy birthday to ME, huh?
Went to Old Main and debated about not staying for class for about 20 minutes. After Krystn and Danielle convinced me to leave, I left. A girl should not have to be in class on her birthday. It is not right. So I went on a mini-shopping adventure.
I wanted to go to the Farmington Hills TJ Maxx. Just as I was nearing my car...walking over the Lodge...I realized...hmm, I could probably take the Lodge. I tell you, it sure is nice to know how to get around the area in which you live. It is nice to know the freeway systems and utilize them. I guess that $20,000 I spent on architecture school gets me some use, huh? [My architecture class taught me how to navigate downtown Detroit and showed me the Lodge expressway existed.] I got to Farmington in NO TIME. It made my day. After that TJ Maxx, I went to the Southfield TJ Maxx. Yo, I love TJ Maxx. Got home just as my class would be letting out...so it made me smile.
Got a rendition of "Happy Birthday" from Bowman. Tried to take a nap...but realized it was a lot later than I thought. Rich came over and took me out to dinner. Rich totally made my wardrobe happy for the entire summer by giving me that Diesel purse I wanted! He so shouldn't have...but it's totally radass and is perfect! Thanks Rich! Anyway, we went to dinner and had the sassy-know-it-all waitress. Afterwards, I needed to go to Target, so we dorked it out in Target for a bit. Eventually, the night ended up with me, Rich, and my family watching Real World on MTV (and a phone call from my wonderful Grandmother). All in all, turned out to be a pretty good birthday. Oh yes, I should publicly thank my sister and Aaron for their gift to me...a totally great gift card to Nordstrom. My mind has been buzzing all day about what I will spend that on. Hehe.
My sister is getting her name officially changed tomorrow. Her name will now be legally spelled with a "G" and not a "J." She's also changing her middle name.
Nice!
Kwame (mayor of Detroit) just announced tonight that the city of Detroit has bought the Train Station! This is great news people! People may bust Kwame's balls for being such a thug...but I am totally in love with the guy for really striving to preserve these historic buildings. Who cares if Archer (former Detroit mayor) might have started the whole...save Detoit spiel...but I gotta respect Kwame for keeping on top of this shit. Also...is it sad that I know the name of Detroit's current mayor and many many many former mayors...but have no idea who the mayor of my own city is?
