[Entry 37]
<<||>>

is this just another phase?

And so it's time for another journal entry.

Today was calmly weird...in it's own weirdly way. My mom bought new shampoo yesterday. It is called "Manipulator." It is bright blue. Kind of weird for shampoo. I read the back...because usually shampoos only sold in salons have a purpose. To straighten. To curl. To de-frizz. To shine. Etc. Etc. Etc. This stuff said it's purpose is to "rock." I don't think I grasp how hair can be styled to "rock"...but the shampoo worked nicely on my hair.

I don't know what the deal is with Little Caesar's. I guess it's the hip new place to be or something. Today, as I was waiting for my food (as you always have to wait for your food, even if you can see that your food is sitting on the heated shelves...ready) I made small talk. I almost always do it when I'm waiting for my food. Because everyone is waiting, too, and they're all keeping it in about how pissed off they are...so I start the, "This is so awesome!" or whatever I'm feeling at the moment. Always complementing the fine work that is done there. Anyway, I was talking outloud about the situation and this guy next to me laughs, looks at me and says, "You know...this may sound really corny... but you have the most beautiful green eyes I have ever seen." What do you even say to that? I can only think of "thanks." Then it turned into a movie...some girl starts shouting at the top of her lungs about how they gave her food away. She wasn't waiting in line...she was off talking to her friends and came back. They aren't Panera Bread, chick. It was awesome when she put up the fuss and then "her" Crazy Crusts were given to me. Hahahahahahah. I'm surprised she didn't punch me in my face or something...

My sister thought I re-dyed my hair. I guess that shampoo really is a manipulator.

Julian Scott...awesome store with so many grand plans for the future. It makes me really excited to go in there. The building is amazing and was formally a bank...though it hasn't been a bank for a longass time (retail was in there before). It still has the vaults in tact. It was like visiting the Guardian Building all over again (Guardian Building was originally built as a bank and we visited it my freshmen year in architecture...the basement was a cafe...but it was a cafe in the vaults). Anyway, Julian Scott is very upscale...they have in-house designers and everything...but they still had some affordable things, too. I found a really cute sweatshirt-like jacket that was $65. I don't know if I would pay that...but it wasn't out of total line. And a purse I liked was $45. The sweater I really really really liked...$125. Not that that's an unusual price for a sweater or anything.

It was really weird tonight...downtown. I found a parking spot on the street (free parking is the shit!). Parked my car. Had some out-of-towner (meaning he probably lived in the suburbs) asking for directions to Intermezzo (you know, where Britney Murphy worked in 8 Mile). I was trying to tell him it's in Harmonie Park and he needed to go back and to our left...but he was just babbling on...and then some bum-like guy came around and started giving him directions, so we took off (only to be asked for $1.75 for this guy to get home on a bus). As we're walking...I look... and realized I had parked almost directly across the street from The National Theater. One of the first buildings I ever had to draw in my adventures in architecture. And I was like... HOLY SHIT: this area has changed SO much in four years. I really started freaking out. I realized that the parking structure for Compuware/Hard Rock...was an empty field four years ago. I realized there was no underground parking structure four years ago. It made me feel weird because I suddenly felt like I was really unfamiliar with everything...yet at the same time...happy because shit was really happening. You can actually see tremendous changes in just four years.

I'm using Crest Night Effects on my teeth currently. Just because I was "blessed" with a free sample. Oh my gosh does that shit suck. I probably would not have purchased this particular product if I felt like buying whitening stuff, anyway...but shit. I don't know what kind of crack Crest was smoking when they produced this product. I've used the White Strips. They're kinda icky...but in no way as much of a pain-in-the-ass as the Night Effects. You have to "dry" off your teeth...which is hard for me, because I have a lot of spit. I do. When your teeth are dry, you have to take a little brush, along with a little packet of stuff and paint the crap on your teeth. The stuff gets really gunky soon after air hits it. And then you have to let the stuff dry for about 30 seconds on your teeth. Doing your bottom teeth correctly is damn near impossible. Of course, I have 11 days left and I will use them. I got me braces off! I want pretty white teeth!

Need to get to bed.
