[Entry 12]
<<||>>

so yesterday...

It's that time again...time to recap the entire year in one entry. It's a hard thing to do. A year is a lot of days and it requires much more brainpower than I have to remember it all.

Biggest Personal Lowpoint:

The biggest event in the first portion of the year was the announcement of Pearl Jam tour dates. Which, obviously, seems like ages ago. I freaked out---not in a good way. Really. My family, Bowman, and Rich all had to experience me on that day...and it was not pretty. There was a lot of me stressing out in a way that was totally ridiculous. I screamed. I shouted. I may even have thrown some things. LOL it was just a little bit overwhelming for me...the index cards, trying to figure out all the shows I was actually going to make it to (working around work and school). Yes, lowpoint. And why did I stress? I know that tour stuff always works out a-ok. Last January, I planned to do 13 shows this tour, I ended up doing 17.

Most Entertaining Family Event:

Though it's not much to laugh about...but the fact my dad had knee surgery and the following week my brother broke his ankle...and immediately following that, my grandma broke her ankle, too. Shit like that only happens in this family because it's just unreal.
Tie: My mom's newfound love for cats. We started the year off with 2. Then we had 1. All of a sudden, we have FOUR. And she subscribes to Cat Fancy. I'm not kidding.

Worst Thing

My doggy suddenly having to be put to sleep.

Best Shopping Experiences:

Finding out Fairlane has a Diesel store...and a Forever 21...making it the bomb diggity.
Besides that, I scored huge in the bargain department this year. I got my yellow Miss Sixty coat for half off...Bob scored me those Extra Low Tommys for like $30...I found my dream Diesel shoes...THREE times...all at discounts. Yes, good year for shopping.

Good album purchases this year:

- I think it was required to purchase 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Trying. As I said on February 2nd: In other news...I was flipping through the channels on tv a couple of days ago and caught the new 50 Cent video on MTV2, In Da Club and HOLY SHIT is that track HOT! Seriously, it RULES! I was contimplating buying his album when it comes out...but it sealed the deal for me.
- Duh, Ludacris: Chicken and Beer. Stand Up is probably the most underrated song of the year...though I must admit that it doesn't have the power of Move...but it's still great!
- Dave Matthew's solo release...Some Devil. Yeah, yeah, not the greatest ever...but still GOOD. Title track is my favorite...so haunting...and again, so good.
- Hail to the motherfucking Theif! Any new Radiohead makes this girl smile! Just a couple of days ago, me and my brother were talking and without thinking I said "I think Go To Sleep is Radiohead's best song." Maybe it is how I truely feel because it just came out of me. HTT...good shit. REALLY good shit.
- And last, but certainly not least, Lost Dogs. I'm still thoroughly impressed with what the band threw to us. Even if the version of U is a wee bit lame...tee hee.

Singles That I Hearted:

- In Da Club ... 50 Cent
- Ignition (Remix) ... R.Kelly (come on, you gotta admire a song by a pedophile talking a lot about sex)
- Beautiful ... Christina Aguilera (of her singles released this year, this was the best...I thought Fighter was great when I first bought the album but since it's been played like crazy, it um, drives me crazy. Beautiful is one of the highlights of her album. No denying it.)
- Senorita ... Justin Timberlake (as the opening song on the album, I was indeed blown away by this track...I was like...damn this shit is good. I never thought it would be released as a single...and damn, it did well, huh?)
- Rock Wit You (Awww Baby) ... Ashanti (I really dug this song around the time of her album's release)
- It's My Life ... No Doubt (though it's totally being played out, it's a good cover)

Songs I Wish Would Die:

- Where Is The Love? ... Black Eyed Peas (the real question is...where is the real Black Eyed Peas? Shit man, they used to be cool until they got that chick from Kids Incorporated singing for them)
- Any Beyonce Song (we get it, she's talented, she's rich, she's beautiful, she's dating Jay-Z...she should also shut the fuck up)
- Bring Me To Life ... Evanescence (make me puke)
- Milkshake ... Kelis (yes, relatively new. Thought it was alright the first time I heard it...now I want to shoot it)
- Me Against the Music ... Britney Spears (I'm just shaking my head)
- So Yesterday ... Hillary Duff (did people really buy this crap? AND really listen to it? PUKE!)
- Why Can't I ... Liz Phair (one note of this song and it's stuck in your head, it just annoys me, sorry my friends that like Liz Phair)

Dumb Concert Moves:

- Skipping Eminem at Ford Field because I had to see Pearl Jam in Holmdel. Ok, that wasn't such a dumb move.
- Skipping Justin Timberlake at the State Theater because I was lazy. I wasted money. Moron.

Best Concerts:

Well, um, I only saw three bands this year
- Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds @ CMU (beautiful, just beautiful!)
- Radiohead @ Alpine Valley (Radiohead rocks ass and I got to hang out with most of Team No Drama)
- Duh, Pearl Jam...um, I guess I should do a top three...
3. Both Clarkston/Detroit shows (yes, I am cheating, but they worked together so well. Night 1 I got my first Help Help ever...but Night 2 was spectacular, too)
2. Nashville (my first front row ever and an awesome LBC to boot)
1. State College (like a billion of us in front row at the longest show ever...Satan's Bed? Stone hacking Mankind?!? It doesn't get much better than this!)

Most Hilarious Thing I Couldn't Possibly Make Up:

Come on! Rob's cellphone being stolen by a stripper (aka bikini dancer) in Atlantic City!
runner up: the Pittsburgh hotel fire alarm. That shit doesn't happen to three people twice within six months...and the fact that it happened to Bowman, Dolin, and me twice in six months...how could I not laugh?

Most Hilarious Message Board Posts:

- Being accused of being part of an "inner circle"
- Being the topic of a thread on Synergy
- The "hot Australian surfer guy" buzz

Most Memorable Tour Moments:

- Me always saying the WRONG THINGS when people are listening (and for the record, NO I DO NOT LIKE THE BOX)
- TallTim wearing my Diesel jacket
- The town of Hershey being the biggest disappointment EVER
- Kirk's trip to Lima and the 18 hour drive to Nashville (ok, it wasn't that long)
- The Mütter Museum and two trips to Philly within one week (with a trip all the way home in-between)
- The drive home from New Jersey right after the Holmdel show

Accomplishments:

I overall, suck. But I did sew a skirt and a shirt this year. That makes me cool.

Ok, I think that should do it. I wish I had more to say that wasn't tour related...but Pearl Jam tour years always take up memory space because they are indeed the most memorable. Hopefully, 2004 will be memorable in any which way it can...have a Happy New Year everyone!
