Encore. . .
My City of Ruins/Man of the Hour/Comatose/Do the Evolution/Black/State of Love and Trust/Alive/Baba O'Riley/IndifferenceFirst show post-ankle-surgery. I was really looking forward to it. We packed the kids up for this show. Instead of finding a stranger to watch our kids, we enlisted the daughter of my friend from junior high to watch the kids. She was super sweet and it was so nice to meet her.
We stayed relatively close to the venue and were appreciative of the beautiful weather Pittsburgh had to offer us. We headed to the venue and connected with Rich and Bob who were sitting in our same section. For the first time in many years, I was given Ten Club tickets for two nights in a row in the exact same seats. Not only was that awesome and unique but they were also AISLE seats. Talk about holy grails! On top of that, our seats were clutch in that they were in the last row of our section and had a nice ledge to prop water bottles, merch, etc. AND Stone siiiiiiiiide!
Show opened up nice and slow with Footsteps into a beautiful Lowlight. Things started picking up after Given to Fly with Mind Your Manners.
We really got some rockers early in the set. Wreckage is one that has really grown on me - it really reminded me of a Petty song the first couple of times I heard it. Nate's a big Even Flow fan so I had to take some video footage for him. I feel like I do that at every show now...
We got the hand trilogy (LOL): Sleight of Hand (!), Severed Hand (!), Upper Hand...Upper Hand is one of my favs so I was super happy to get it. Overall, great main set!
Really did not think Ed would come out and play My City of Ruins...it's such a beautiful cover and it's one of those I have played on repeat on my drive to work. What a blessing.
Overall really great encore and just really excited to see what night two was going to bring!!!
